Slate is an iOS reminders application developed at Collapse Studios. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Slate. Slate is designed to operate without collecting your personal information. You do not need to create an account, and we do not collect, receive, sell, or share your reminders, selected background photos, or other app content.

1. Information Processed on Your Device

Slate processes information on your device to provide its features. This includes:

Text you enter to create reminders.
Reminder details, including titles, notes, due dates, and alert times.
Photos you select for your app background.
Settings and preferences used to customize your experience.

This information is processed and stored locally to support the app’s functionality. It is not transmitted to Collapse Studios.

2. On-Device Artificial Intelligence

On supported Apple devices, Slate uses an on-device language model to interpret the text you enter and extract details into a structured reminder.

This processing takes place on your device. Slate does not send your reminder text to Collapse Studios or external artificial intelligence services for processing. We do not collect your content to train artificial intelligence models.

You may also create reminders manually without using the language model.

3. Background Photos

You may select a photo from your photo library to personalize Slate’s background. Slate uses the selected photo solely to display your chosen background.

Slate does not upload the photo to our servers, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising, analytics, or model training.

4. Notifications and System Displays

With your permission, Slate uses iOS notifications to alert you when a reminder is due or at an earlier alert time you have selected.

Reminder information may also appear in Live Activities, the Dynamic Island, and Home Screen widgets. These features use your reminder information to display relevant content through Apple’s operating system. Depending on your device settings, reminder details may be visible on your Lock Screen or other surfaces accessible to someone using or viewing your device. You can manage notification permissions, previews, and available display controls through iOS settings and remove widgets you no longer want to display.

5. Data Collection and Sharing

Slate does not require an account or collect account information. We do not collect app content or usage data through Slate, and we do not sell, rent, or share your personal information.

Slate does not use your reminders or selected photos for advertising, tracking, or profiling.

6. Local Storage and Device Backups

Slate stores the information needed to provide its features on your device. We do not maintain a server-side copy of your reminders or selected background photos.

Depending on your device settings, Slate’s locally stored data may be included in backups managed by Apple or backups you create yourself. These backups are separate from data collection by Slate and are governed by the applicable service’s terms and privacy practices. 7. Your Choices and Data Removal

You control the information you enter into Slate and the photos you select. You may delete reminders you no longer need and manage Slate’s permissions through iOS settings.

Deleting the app removes its locally stored app data, subject to iOS behavior. Offloading the app may retain its data. Copies contained in existing device backups may remain until those backups are deleted or replaced under your backup settings.

Because Collapse Studios does not receive your locally stored app content, we cannot access, retrieve, or delete it on your behalf.

8. Security

Slate relies on the storage and security protections provided by iOS to help protect information stored on your device. You can further protect your information by using a device passcode and keeping your operating system updated.

No method of electronic storage is completely secure.

9. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Slate iOS application. Apple’s operating system, backup services, and other independently provided services are governed by their respective privacy policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Slate or its privacy practices. Any revised policy will be published on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
